Summary In this work the relevant tasks and challenges of the simulation of electric vehicles are explained. The requirements of the
simulation environment, the used models and the required parameters are discussed. For the presented models the object-oriented
modeling language Modelica is used. The required components and libraries for simulation of electric vehicles are introduced.
An application of a small-sized electric vehicle is presented.
