Sensors have been successfully applied in many fields namely, military, house automation, medical and urban environments where they make information omnipresent. However, much work needs to be done on administration and querying sets of sensors. This paper presents an architecture for management of data streams coming from heterogeneous sensors. Our proposal is inspired by two traditional approaches. The first one is based on networks of "intelligent" sensors allowing data processing in a strongly distributed way. The second approach manages continuous data streams using a centralized or slightly distributed platform. We propose a hybrid approach combining the advantages of current approaches in order to build scalable solutions. |
