Title
Collaboration Knowledge Management and Sharing Services to Support a Virtual Organisation.
Abstract
With analysing the requirements of knowledge management for collaboration in a Virtual Organisation (VO), this paper mainly investigates technical solutions for Partner Knowledge Management Services (PKMS): web services which provide knowledge sharing and protection within such collaborations. PKMS is designed in compliance with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Initially several design principles of SOA are examined and adopted to build up the structure of PKMS. As a consequence PKMS is composed of High-Level Services and Low-Level Services in a hierarchy, which assure that services can be reused and contribute to adaptive and flexible business applications. The functions and relationships of High-Level Services and Low-Level Services are presented herein. The architecture of PKMS can be implemented through four structural layers: presentation, business logic, middleware and persistence.
