A spectral difference method is used to quantify the magnitude and extent of radio-frequency interference (RFI) observed over the United States in the Aqua AMSR-E radiometer channels. A survey using data from the AMSR-E instrument launched in May 2002 shows the interference to be widespread in the C-band (6.9 GHz) channels.
