One approach to enhance the requirements analysis is the active participation of users in the analysis process. User oriented requirements models, i.e. models which do not include information irrelevant to the viewpoint of the user, improve the communication between the users and the analyst. Our approach in producing user oriented models is based on the use of Statecharts language and Statemate tool during the requirements analysis. We construct the requirements model in such a method that the user models can easily be extracted from the full requirements model which is used as a basis for the design. Or - in a vice-versa approach - the full requirements model can be built on the user models. The models are graphic, easy to understand and precise. The user models are an integral part of the full model and, on the other hand, applicable as such to be used as user's guides. |
