The Management of Monitoring in Object-Based Distributed Systems
Abstract
A general model of management is introduced and used in the development of a model of the management of monitoring. This model is subsequently used to show how monitoring and its management can be implemented in an object-based distributed system.The structures necessary for conducting a monitoring session with multiple objects are presented. The problem of managing a monitoring session, where the set of objects under observation changes dynamically, is addressed. Finally, the problem of management across federation boundaries is discussed.
