1.25gbit/S Integrated Receiver For Optical Wireless Communication Systems
Abstract
For optical wireless communication systems a receiver with a monolithically integrated PIN photodiode has been developed. The circuit was produced using 0.5 mu m BiCMOS technology and with an indoor measurement setup we reached a data transfer rate of 1.25 Gbit/s with a bit error rate of 5.24 x 10(-11). The link distance between transmitter and receiver was 3.2 m and the photodiode of the integrated receiver had a diameter of 300 mu m.
