The paper deals with the development of advice-giving agents on the WWW. Based on work in the EU project VIP-Advisor, a general dialogue model was developed for advice sessions which formed the basis of the realisation of an advice-giving agent. Its dialogue capability was extended using case-based reasoning (CBR) methods such that the system was not only able to execute the intended dialogue plan of an advice session, but also able to react flexibly to specific problems arising during the dialogue. |
