While research has highlighted the potential of software reuse, little research has been undertaken to investigate the degree to which organisations are actively employing a policy of software reuse. In fact, some authors suggest that the paradigm of reuse has not been adopted, nor has it sufficiently benefited organisations at large. Various barriers to adopting a policy of software reuse have been suggested. Recent research has suggested non-technical barriers, such as managerial and measurement problems of reuse. The current research examines this change in emphasis by examining the experience of Australian organisations. |
