Abstract | ||

In this paper, a morphological vehicle license plate locating method in complex background was provided. First, a pre-segmentation is implemented to reduce the locating interference. In order to suppress noise and enhance the edge information, mathematical morphological multi-scale edge detection is adopted, and different scale structuring elements are constructed. After that, use a series of morphological operations to binarized image, the plate image is divided into separate connected regions, Connected Component Labeling is implemented to detect the plate region, then the plate location is isolated according to shape features of license plate. From the experiments one can conclude that this method can locate license plates in complex background accurately. |
