This paper describes the design and deployment of Synthesis Vis, an intranet web site where various users may contribute data, create interactive visualizations, and share visualizations. The goal of the site is to support collaboration around information visualizations at a large scale by fostering a social style of design process. Moreover, the site serves as a collaborative information visualization tool for individuals, providing a medium to share visualizations among users. To support this goal, the site includes novel mechanisms for enduser creation of visualizations and collaboration in the design process of those visualizations. The early usage of Synthesis Vis verifies the design and deployment of Synthesis Vis for collaborative information visualization. |
