Title
A new approach for representing and processing uncertainty knowledge
Abstract
There are many approaches to the problem of how to represent and process uncertainty knowledge. The most successful one is fuzzy set theory proposed by Zadeh. Set pair analysis (SPA) theory is another attempt to this problem. The theory has attracted attention of many researchers and practitioners all over China, who contribute essentially to its development and applications. SPA theory overlaps with many other theories, especially with fuzzy set theory, evidence theory, Boolean reasoning methods, and rough set theory - nevertheless it can be viewed in its own rights, as an independent, complementary, and not competing discipline.
