Title
Limitation of Super Resolution Image Reconstruction for Video
Abstract
Super resolution image reconstruction (SRR) is one of the typical super resolution (SR) technologies that has been researched in the past with varying results. The SRR algorithm was proposed for still images at first and was extended to video. However, there are different characteristics between still images and video. Many researches proposed "Fast and Robust SRR" algorithms since SRR needs iterations that cause delay if they are applied to the real time video. Except for the delay SRR has other issues. One of the most interesting points of SRR for video is the limitation of the resolution. Although HDTV sets with SRR is in the market recently, their resolution is inferior to the HDTV sets without SR. In this paper the achievable highest resolution with SRR and the limitation of SRR for video is discussed.
