Event graphs are a simple but powerful graphical technique for representing simulation models. However, existing simulation software rarely uses event graphs to build simulation models. In this paper, we present an application for working with event graphs called EGRET. It contains a user-friendly graphical editor for creating and modifying event graphs. It allows running the simulation of the model represented by the created event graph. In addition, EGRET includes interactive debugging support. The, created graph can be saved in XML format. The functionality can easily be enhanced by plug-ins - small modules that add now functions to the application. The application can be useful in education or in practical simulation modeling using event graphs, and thus becomes one of few software products with this functionality. |
