This paper considers multihop wireless networks that are used for multicast traffic i.e., networks in which subsets of users are interested in identical information such as a video clipping. We calculate an upper bound on the achievable throughput per multicast flow as a function of the number of sources, number of destinations per source, number of interfaces per node, and the number of channels available. Then we propose a methodology that achieves the upper bound in an order sense under certain circumstances. We study the impact of the ratio of the number of channels to number of interfaces per node on the multicast capacity region of wireless networks. |
