Work on the development of end-to-end QoS control management architecture for Next Generation Networks started at ITU-T a few years ago and it is still under way. This paper provides an overview of some of the protocols proposed by ITU-T (COPS-PR), describes others (COPS-SLS) developed to cover functionalities which have no corresponding protocols to date. This paper details the development of a mechanism designed to optimize the interaction between both of the aforementioned protocols and the Linux based testbed where it has been implemented. Furthermore, we propose a new protocol named COPS-E2E, aimed at improving end-to-end QoS control management efficiency. |
