The shape of NURBs curves can be varied by altering the knot sequences, control point locations and weights of control points. The paper presents a unified approach that modifies the shape of NURBs curves by altering the weights and the location of the control points simultaneously. The effect of the result of the variation is studied for each of the methods. A homogeneous coordinate representation is introduced to provide some physical insight into the weights of the control points. |
