Title
Analysis of Sustainable Development in Guilin by Using the Theory of Ecological Footprint.
Abstract
This study is a project which calculates ecological footprint of Guilin in the past decade by theory of ecological footprint. The results showed that: from 1999 to 2008, per-capita biological capacity was stable, per-capita ecological footprint grew from 1.3434 hm(2)/cap to 2.0499hm(2)/cap, per-capita ecological deficit increased in study period. Ecological footprint per ten-thousand GDP declined by almost 50%. According to the results we can find ecosystem of Guilin was in a unsustainable state. Therefore, it is necessary to accelerate economic growth mode transformation, develop ecological industries and advance biological capacity in Guilin.
