Monte Carlo-based assessment of system availability. A case study for cogeneration plants |
Abstract | ||
---|---|---|
The complexity of the modern engineering systems besides the need for realistic considerations when modeling their availability and reliability render analytic methods very difficult to be used. Simulation methods, such as the Monte Carlo technique, which allow modeling the behavior of complex systems under realistic time-dependent operational conditions, are suitable tools to approach this problem. |
