The paper presents a study of the dynamics of socio-technic al change. It describes the evolution of mobile messaging and its social implications, in particular how individuals over time will evolve into communities of common "mobile" characteristics and/or "privacy" concerns. Our conceptual model - the Price of Convenience Model, introduced in (Ng- Kruelle, Swatman, Rebne and Hampe 2002) - is combined with an activity-theo retical perspective, where the interfaces in adoption of an evolving innovation are described using the concepts. This paper is divided into two main sections. The first section describes theoretical and analytical approaches that addresses the interfaces in adoption of an evolving innovation, and activity-theoretical perspective on adoption. The second section describes the evolution of mobile messaging follow by a study of dynamics of socio-technical |
