Abstract | ||

•We consider a two-echelon inventory system with Poisson demand and lost sales.•For this system, we develop a new analysis approach that works well in many settings.•Our main contribution is a more accurate analysis of the central depot.•Contrary to existing methods, we therefore do not need an iterative analysis approach.•A numerical experiment shows the method to be very accurate relative to simulation. |
