The architectural design of distributed enterpriseapplications from the viewpoints of different stakeholdershas been proposed for some time, for example, as part ofRM-ODP and IEEE 1471, and seems now-a-days to gainacceptance in practice. However, much work remains tobe done on the relationships between different viewpoints.Failing to relate viewpoints may lead to a collection ofviewpoint models that is inconsistent and may, therefore, lead to an incorrect implementation. This paper definesan approach that helps designers to relate differentviewpoints to each other. Thereby, it helps to enforce theconsistency of the overall design. The results of this paperare expected to be particularly interesting for ModelDriven Architecture (MDA) projects, since the proposedapproach can be used for the explicit definition of themodels and relationships between models in an MDAtrajectory. |
