Title
RegColl: centralized registry framework for infrastructure system management
Abstract
System administrators are faced with the challenge of managing and compiling information about deployed systems to ensure the maintenance, scalability, security, and overall availability of the infrastructure systems. Recently, securing and monitoring the deployed enterprise infrastructure systems has taken unprecedented importance due to the added accountability now being placed on managing corporate data and private information. Compliance with new regulation has never been stressed more than now - with SOX/Bill 198, GLB Act/PIPDEA, HIPPA to name a few regulations. Toward this, we present RegColl: A practical framework for registry and system configuration management for monitoring and maintaining the health of corporate infrastructure systems in Windows environment. In RegColl, registry and configuration information are collected at a centralized location so as to inspect and analyze the data for policy compliance, system configuration monitoring, and incident response services.
