The reversible information hiding technique is to embed secret information in multi-media. Through extraction algorithm, the concealed information can be extracted and the original host media can be totally recovered. Coltuc et al. developed a simple and efficient reversible hiding scheme based on reversible contrast mapping (RCM), which does not need location maps to recover the host image. However, their scheme can not fully control the position where information is embedded, so the quality of the stego image is poor. Therefore, this paper proposed an enhanced hiding scheme based on Kamstra et al.’s distortion control technique to improve Coltuc et al.’s scheme. The experimental results show that the image quality of the proposed scheme is better than that of Coltuc et al.’s scheme for limited amount of embedded data. |
