Title
A Robust Watermarking Algorithm for Audio Signals Using SVD
Abstract
Perceptual transparency and robustness are trade offs in audio watermarking which is an existing research problem. Synchronization attacks are the most challenging attack in audio watermarking. An algorithm is proposed in this paper which has good perceptual transparency and is also robust to synchronization attacks. The watermark embedding regions are selectively chosen in the high energy regions of the audio which makes the embedding process robust to signal processing attacks. The watermark is embedded in the audio in an adaptive manner. The degree of embedding is localized in nature and depends on the audio content of that localized region. The watermark is embedded by quantization of the singular values in the wavelet domain which makes the process perceptually transparent. The experimental results suggest that the proposed method maintains a good perceptual quality of the audio signal and maintains good robustness against signal processing attacks.
