Title
Non-invasive and long-term core temperature measurement
Abstract
Long term, non-invasive monitoring of core temperature would be valuable for both the understanding of human thermoregulation responses to different drugs and conditions as well as the potential to develop tools for early detection of disease. Although the possible benefits of a non-invasive core temperature monitoring system are vast, the challenges associated with constructing a robust and accurate device have only achieved limited successes. This paper addresses an adaptation of a heat flux equilibrium based device for testing and use in non-invasive, long-term core temperature monitoring which has yielded optimistic results in initial testing.
