Title
On the Performance of CFP Repetition Rate in IEEE 802.11 WLANs Supporting IP-Mobility
Abstract
This paper investigates the performance of the CFP repetitionrate (CFPRate) for real and non real-time IP trafficover IEEE 802.11. We show that variations on the lengthof CFPRate affects negatively the mean transmission delayfor an 802.11 frame, increasing the effective latency forIP-Mobility; on this basis we argue that performance of IPtraffic is tracked by the size of CFPRate. We further derivelower bounds of CFPRate with respect to minimum framedelay, under different signalling rates by means of simulations.
