Local Representations and a direct Voting Scheme for Face Recognition
Abstract
A new approach combining a simple local representation method with a k-nearest neighbours-based direct voting scheme is proposedfor face recognition. This approach rises computational problems that weeectively solve through an approximate fast k-nearest neighbours searchtechnique. Experimental results with the widely used Olivetti ResearchLtd (ORL) face database are reported showing the eectiveness of theproposed approach.
