Title
DrilLs-M: Multimedia Testing System with Operation-Style Answering --Application to Kanji Letter Shape Learning --
Abstract
There are some practical Web-based testing systems and drill type CAI with multimedia questioning. Many of these systems do not adopt adequate answering methods for multimedia materials. In this research, we propose a model of operation style answering for multimedia questioning. We classify the answering and input operation to determine description format. We develop DrilLs-M: multimedia testing system based on the model and description. It enables some natural user actions as answering, such as, designation of areas and drawing lines with a mouse or pen tablet. It supports experiential learning effectively. We introduce an application to Kanji letter shape learning. And we discuss the suitable answering style. It offers matching methods and input guide interface.
