The process of investigating a crime committed by using digital means is called Digital Forensics (DF). DF training is critical, especially since first responders to a digital crime scene often contaminate the evidence unknowingly. A pattern is a generic solution to a repeating problem. The authors propose a DF pattern template (patlet - as it is only a proposal) to govern the above-mentioned issue. The patlet is illustrated by its application using a live-CD based tool for first responder validation of DF evidence. |
