Abstract
Syntax Notation One (ASN.1) [2],which provides a wide variety of types ranging from simple bit strings to complexstructures. The GDMO formalism defines a set of templates to link the semantics ofthe various constructs with the syntax of their values: the most commonly used arethe WITH ATTRIBUTE SYNTAX in the ATTRIBUTE template, WITH INFORMATION SYNTAX and WITH REPLYSYNTAX supporting productions in the ACTION and NOTIFICATION templates.
