A wide range of database applications manage time-varying information. Existing database technology currently provides little support for managing such data. In this paper, based on principles and ideas of a temporal processing component called TempDB, we deeply insight into extensions to non-temporal RDBMS, and then use RMI technology to develop a distributed temporal data management platform, the underlying RDB of which is the lightweight MySQL. On one hand, the proposed platform is compatible with the mature technology of RDB and supports the translation from temporal query language ATSQL2 to standard SQL, making it more convenient to handle temporal information in application systems. On the other hand, it presents the feasibility, high efficiency and convenience of Embed Temporal Application Mode. |
