From 1970 to 1975 the Air Force, together with the MITRE Corporation, designed and developed a Remote Terminal Emulator for the purpose of benchmarking large terminal oriented computer systems. This paper briefly describes the reasons for the development, certain criteria used for the design, and some of the results of the tests used to verify the design. |
