We have developed a graph editor for trees called VTM which can handle large trees with thousands of nodes. VTM makes users easy to observe a whole tree and some specified parts of the tree which are zoomed up simultaneously, and makes it easy to input a command for the tree by allowing direct manipulation on the display. In this paper, we explain how to handle large trees in VTM and give some examples of how to use VTM from application programs. We also give the experimental results showing that VTM is practically usable for large trees with thousands of nodes. |
