Title
An FR-ID Driven Holonic Control Scheme for Production Control Systems
Abstract
An RFID-based holonic control scheme for production control systems is presented. This scheme enables each component of the products to be attached with an RFID tag and to be controlled and supplied autonomously by the FRID tag into product assembly facilities. Each RFID tag contains the control information, called "lifetime information," such as assembly facility and status information. When any change in the production process plan is necessary, the lifetime information in all the relevant RFID tags of the components is immediately updated by this system. The components can be flexibly controlled to enable the system to adapt to the modified assembly process. Thus, it doesn't require any centralized re- scheduling. A simple example of this scheme shows how the system can keep the number of wasted components to a minimum and which situation can keep the delivery deadline time. Our RFID-based holonic control is particularly effective for high- variety low-volume production.
