Title
Smart access: strong authentication on the Web
Abstract
This paper describes a field project that extends the `Studentenchipkaart' for client/server authentication on the web. No separate registration process on the Internet is used besides the delivery of the smartcard itself. The encryption and authentication are based on symmetric keys that are shared between smartcards and applications. A three-party authentication service, where a trusted third party takes care of the authentication, is currently under development.
