Cloud computing has the potential to revolutionize the way systems are developed and marketed. The cloud has become an important research subject in software engineering nowadays. Among the many research gaps related to this new computing model is the lack of portability between cloud platforms, which generates the Data Lock-In. The Data Lock-In is the difficulty in migrating data and applications from a cloud platform to another. This work presents a model-driven approach for promoting cloud portability, in the context of PaaS (Platform as a Service). The initial results indicate that the use of MDE in cloud computing can facilitate cloud adoption, as well as the migration between the different platforms offered in the market. |
