Title
Using LDAP as a Management Solution for Distributed OSGi
Abstract
In this paper we propose a convenient way to supervise and control a distributed OSGi framework without using a central backend solution, which would add a single point of failure to the system. This is achieved by using LDAP and by benefiting from its replication and referral mechanisms. We also show how bundle migration can be done in such an environment for the purpose of enhancing scalability and reliability of the framework. At the end of this paper we prove the applicableness by testing our implementation in a simple scenario and give a perspective of what can be done in the future.
