Title
Motion information and coding mode reuse for MPEG-2 to H.264 transcoding
Abstract
MPEG-2 to H.264/AVC transcoding is an interesting research topic and has wide applications. This paper proposes a motion vector and coding mode re-use process for MPEG-2 to H.264 main profile transcoding. Experimental results show that the proposed approach can significantly reduce the computational complexity of the transcoder without sacrificing the rate-distortion performance.
