eHealth Research and Educational Capacity in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Abstract
and Objective The objective of the workshop is to contribute to the discussion of possible strategies for strengthening the eHealth capacity of universities in Sub-Saharan Africa to deliver research based e-health education. Further, the workshop aims to draw attention to the work of the health informatics in Africa organization (HELINA) http://www.helina-online.org/ Shortage of health care professionals and difficulties in delivering specialized diagnostic and treatment in remote areas is a recognized problem in most African counties and eHealth understood in a broad definition could play a more important role in alleviation of the health problems given that the right research and education is provided. Workshop facilitators will encourage and involve the participants in providing information on current activities for a discussion on future cooperation activities.
