The paper presents a novel algorithm for iris segmentation in eye images taken under visible and near infrared light. The proposed approach consists of the following stages: reflections localization, reflections filling in, iris boundaries localization and eyelids boundaries localization. Here, each of these stages is detailed. Authors' solution obtained the second rank in the ''Noisy Iris Challenge Evaluation - Part I'' contest, in which all iris segmentation algorithms submitted to the contest were evaluated and compared. |
