The authors present implementations of ray-casting-based volume rendering andisosurface rendering methods using the Active Data Repository (ADR)for visualizing out-of-core datasets, and describe experimental performance results. ADR is anobject-oriented framework designed to provide support for applications that analyze, explore, and visualize very large multidimensional data sets. It targets distributed memory parallel machines with one ormore disks attached to each node. |
