Abstract
In this paper a result on common fixed point theorem for a pair of contractive type fuzzy mappings in a metric space is established which improves the result of Vijayaraju and Marudai[Fixed point theorems for fuzzy mappings, Fuzzy Sets and Systems 135 (2003) 401-408].
