Providing global Internet connectivity to IPv6 MANETs is a strong trend nowadays, so that the ad hoc hosts can access to the Internet abundant resource. In this paper, we discuss some issues about Internet connectivity with IPv6 MANETs, which include IPv6 address auto-configuration and Internet accessing through Internet gateways. Respectively, we present an effective approach to auto-configure a unique global IPv6 address to each ad hoc node and an asymmetrical approach that uses multiple Internet Gateways to provide MANETs nodes with Internet connectivity. The proposed approaches can bring less overhead and low latency, which can be validated through the results of the simulation experiments. I |
