This paper first illustrates that a response function for the center of interval outputs may not be identical with that for the width of interval outputs in the interval regression model. Then we estimate the interval regression model using the best regression model for the center and the width of the predicted interval and minimizing the length of the symmetric difference between the observed and predicted interval. Also we compare the performance of our proposed interval regression model with various other interval regression models. |
