The requirements of the desired applications can be evaluated at an early design stage based on mechatronic models that give an integrated description of the system. This is demonstrated for an electro-hydraulic linear motion actuator on a working machine that has the potential to replace standard hydraulic systems. The requirements differ for each use cases and unwanted side effects can deteriorate the key performance requirements. In this paper the advantage of a model-based evaluation is shown for the case of undesirable vibrations and possible concepts for their reduction. This method has the power to reduce the time to market significantly. |
