Title
Research on the Directional Interferences Canceling
Abstract
A novel method for the canceling of directional interferences was presented. Tow ship noise is a typical directional interference when towed sonar works, which has bothered sonar researchers for years. Inverse beamforming is a novel method for the canceling of directional interference, but it has its limitation to cancel tow ship noise just because of its multi-path propagation characteristic. Based on inverse beamforming, an iterative inverse beamforming is proposed which could cancel interferences from not only a direction, but a direction band, by virtue of iterative idea. Simulation results indicated the superiority of the improved method compared to inverse beamforming. And the iterative inverse beamforming would be promising in the practical application of directional interference canceling.
