Title
An implementation of prepaid service in CDMA PCS system
Abstract
Even though the number of wireless mobile subscribers is increasing remarkably, service providers lose billions of dollars each year unnecessarily to fraud, bad debt and billing expenses. An effective way to protect profits is to require prepayment for services. This paper describes a prepaid call control scheme which is implemented in CDMA PCS system. In order to accomplish seamless integration, we have tried to minimize the interference with the existing system. The system configuration for prepaid service and the functions performed by the system components are presented. Then the call scenarios are explained in detail and some considerations for implementation are mentioned. Finally, a brief evaluation and the remaining problems are discussed as a conclusion.
