A method for detecting arrhythmia using a RR interval from ECG data in U-Health system |

People treated under the U-Health system are potential patients, and their condition is generally not critical, so most of their vital sign data are normal. Therefore, it is more efficient if the sensors attached to them send only abnormal data selectively without sending all data. In this paper, we propose an arrhythmia detection method in which ECG sensors detect RR interval data in ECG data and send only abnormal data. The proposed method can reduce the transmission cost and energy consumption of sensors. Therefore, the processing cost of a server, which simultaneously processes all the data from many patients, can be minimized. We confirmed the accuracy of our method experimentally by using the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database as a data source for RR interval data. We also demonstrated the energy efficiency of our method experimentally. |
