Based on authors' previous work on a travel hub and semantic recommender, a mobile travel service recommender is proposed in this article, to discover and recommend composite travel services though mobile terminals. Among the recommender's features are (i) using OWL-based user semantics to discover travel services, (ii) searching travel Web services both from predefined resources and from UDDI-supported online registries, (iii) scheduling and invoking services using WS-BPEL, and (iv) using RDF-based user semantics to match user interests with composite services. The recommender's architecture, concepts and technical details are presented in this article and a prototype has been developed to evaluate the proposed concepts and performance. |
